Fantastic Town lots to do Loved the New Years Eve fireworks sitting on the beach, one at 9:30 one at midnight.
Granite Island is a jetty bridge walk to do and at sunset it is beautiful or take the horse cart out to the island. There’s a fair at Xmas holiday time and a market on foreshore on Sundays.
The Bluff is another walk to a hill lookout and you can hire a bike and ride to it.
Lots of eating places and supermarkets.
Shopping strip is good nice shops cafes and bakery.
The surrounding beaches are all amazing just a short drive to Goolwa, Horeshoe bay and Middleton beaches.
Do the boat tour see the seals and dolphins.
Beautiful drive If you’re looking for a great day trip from Adelaide, I can highly recommend this one. A scenic 90 minute drive from Adelaide and, after several lookout stops along the way, enjoyed a few hours at Victor Harbour and a magnificent walk along the jetty and around Granite Island. In all, the jetty walk takes about 10 minutes and the walk around the island takes approx. 45 minutes. It is a beautiful, beautiful walk and a must do whilst down around these parts.
Ideal day trip It was nearly 100km from Adelaide. Nice drive to the Victor Harbor. A nice little town. At the entrance to the city there was a good description on Indigenous people and about the heritage of the land. Horse drawn tram and the granite Island are the city highlights. We had a nice walk around the granite Island which was really remarkable. but we are not lucky enough to see the little penguins in the granite island. Thanks Hung (my cousin) for the great memory.
Stunning views Loved it here. Great inch at the pub. Horse drawn tram across the water to the island. Tuna viewing. Out on the harbor. Has a museum. Unforgettable place.
Big seaside town with everything A very popular holiday destination on SA's peninsula; good variety of eateries and shops, everything you need.
Pirate's Sea Charters - Great experience and great fishing My wife gave me a full day fishing charter trip with Rod Ness out of Victor Harbour. What a day - almost 9 hours on the water and some magnificent fishing. He trades as Pirate’s Sea Charters and also has a retail fresh fish shop where we got a couple of feeds of delicious Port Lincoln prawns. Rod's boat is very comfortable and he provides all the heavy duty rods and tackle you need to haul in big tuna, sharks, snapper and other species. Bring a camera to record your catch because Rod quickly places the catch on ice in a huge car fridge and the next time yuo see your trophy fish, it's neatly packed as fillets in freezer bags! Loved this trip; and thank you Rod for your professional skippering, expert guidance and friendly help with all the challenges of landing those monsters. I hope to get back one day . . . soon.
Nice Day Trip from Adelaide Nice coastal town / city from Adelaide. Very relaxing, and great to be able to walk across to Granite island over the bridge. The old bridge is being dismantled, as there is a new bridge now. There is also a horse-drawn tram that goes across the bridge.
Great Getaway Located 1 hr 20 minutes drive from Adelaide this holiday & retirement destination offers all you need. A well kept township is filled with a variety of accommodation and eating out options. Located on a beautiful coastline it suits both summer and cosy wintery getaways.
Take a trip to the nearby Granite Island and explore the surrounds.
