Shell Rattle Making Workshop

Before the music begins, you must find your rhythm. 🐚🎶
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll gather shells, driftwood and coastal treasures to craft your own shell rattle; a simple, beautiful instrument with a history as old as the ocean itself.
As you make, you’ll explore the ancient connection between rhythm, sound and the sea; how coastal cultures have long used rattles to echo the whisper of waves, the clatter of pebbles, the deep pulse of the water.
No experience needed. Open to all ages – families, individuals, curious hands of every kind.
Running at two locations this June: Art of You Studio in Port Elliot on 7 June, and the Whale Lounge at Victor Harbor Visitor Centre on 14 June.
Take your rattle home – or better yet, bring it along to the Oceans Calling performance and become part of the music yourself.
$20 per rattle. Bookings essential.
