Her love for Rockabilly ignited when she discovered the legendary Wanda Jackson. That spark became a flame, and soon Cherry was carving out her own space in the genre. Originally dubbed the “Australian Imelda May” when she burst onto the scene, her unforgettable performance at Viva Las Vegas #21 earned her a new title: “The Australian Queen of Rockabilly.”
In 2015, Cherry released an album in Melbourne produced by Tommy McEwan, marking a major milestone in her musical journey. Then in 2018, the release of her EP Firecracker, co-written with Zac Jones, changed everything. The EP showcased a bold evolution in Cherry’s sound and songwriting, capturing the attention of audiences and critics alike. It redefined how the world saw Cherry—not just as a performer, but as a powerful creative force in the Rockabilly scene.
